STEM Expo

STEM Expo 22 – 23 May

This year our long established and much loved Science Expo will be including a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics competition category and STEM activity displays on the open evening, hence the event name update.

Whilst students entering the competition will still be receiving Gold, Silver or Bronze year level certificates of achievement, funds raised through the Scholastic Book Club this year will be used to purchase STEM related resources for all students to borrow and share through our school library. This means that students entering the competition will not be receiving book or medal prizes this year.  The STEM Expo remains free of charge and is open to all students of The Gap State School from Prep - Year 6.

The open to community evening will be on Wednesday 23 May from 4.00 – 6.00pm. In addition to sharing students’ work a number of hands on displays and activities will be available for students to enjoy and engage with as we celebrate all things STEM!

Online registration for entry will open on 26 March at 3pm.  Registrations will close on 20 April, in the first week of term 2. More information about the 2018 STEM Expo will be available on the registration site, in the STEM Expo Information Booklet provided to each student who enters and on the school website.

This year an additional non judged category entry has also been included for students wanting to share and showcase their work to our school community, without participating in the judging component. A formal entry is still required via the online registration.
